Sumba, Indonesia
Sumba is an island in Eastern Indonesia. I came to live in Bali to start a new documentary photography project about tribal people in Asia. As part of this new project, I have spent time on this unique and magical island where the ancient culture and traditions are still alive. In this culture, shamans are deeply connected with the forces of nature. My intention is to make a book about the Sumba culture, which for thousands of years has preserved their ancient wisdom of life and respect for the earth. These cultures, today, are healing medicine for Western civilization.
