Bhutan Workshop - Sebastian Suki Belaustegui's Portfolio

Bhutan, Thimphu - 2015

In February 2015, I was invited to the First Bhutan International Festival, to showcase my work, give lectures and develop a documentary photography workshop based on the art of portraiture in natural light. My students ranged from children to adults. Most students were from Bhutan, but there were also participants from Pakistan, France, the United Kingdom, and Mexico. I shared with them my knowledge of the art of making portraits with respect and dignity, and the importance of establishing a relationship with the subjects before photographing them.
