“To spend an hour, a day, a week working alongside Suki is to understand that his photography is an intimate love affair with humanity. During my first one-day workshop in Bali, Suki quickly dispensed with my litany of questions about shutter speeds, ISO and histograms and showed me, a completely novice photographer, how to combine ambient light with human empathy to create evocative, emotional images that far surpass the inert glossy brochure photography that is so widely available in “travel photography workshop” context. Suki is relentless in his pursuit to uncover one’s inner artist, and he forces his students to dig deep to produce quality work. After my second workshop with Suki (one day of flash photography in Bali), I noticed a dramatic improvement in all of my work- whether photographing my son’s class party or a cityscape on my daily commute to Washington, DC. More recently, I attended Suki’s one week Cuba workshop, during which I learned at least two lifetimes about good photography, bad politics, and the human capacity for survival in the face of extraordinary adversity. Apart from his unparalleled artistry, Suki demonstrates for his students a deep appreciation, respect, and willingness to open up to each unique individual he meets, in every forgotten nook and cranny of the world. You will laugh, stand in awe and wonderment, and create beautiful images. You may cry and you will probably want to smash your overpriced camera against a brick wall, but you will never regret this once- (or twice or thrice, if you are lucky) in-a-lifetime experience.”
- Kate DeAngelis, USA
"The workshop I took in Bhutan was an amazing, enlightening and fun experience. I learnt a lot in a short time and loved how Suki interacted with the people we were shooting. We ventured into villages and saw a side of life you wouldn't usually as a tourists and captured some beautiful scenes. Suki's enthusiasm, knowledge, modesty and great love of life made the whole experience very special."

With a lot of joy and expectation I joined the 8 days workshop on the art of documentary photography with Sebastian Suki Belaustegui held in Oaxaca, Mexico exactly during the time of "The Day of the Dead celebration".
More than ever, I learnt a lot about portrait photography as well as lighting during colorful and dynamic parades. I highly appreciated Suki's professional but still practical and hands-on advices during this week. Suki is a brilliant and passionate photographer who shows you to see the world differently through his experience and energy he brings to his photo workshop.
Ruedi Nuetzi, Switzerland
For years I have admired Photosooky’s work. In particular his incredulous, fantastic Day of the
Dead work.
This year I decided to join his Day of the Dead workshop in Oaxaca.
Suki runs a well thought out program. He fosters a great connection and
respect between the participating photographers. He inspires, and is very generous with his
teaching. I particularly liked that Suki is insistent on treating the local people with respect and
care. Fabulous local food is also built in to the experience.
I came away from the workshop in love with beautiful Oaxaca, lucky to have a bunch of lovely
new friends, and confident in using flash in street parades.
I can’t wait to join Suki again on another trip.

"There is something about Suki's photography that stands above the rest. The way he engages with the subject and the way the subject express themselves. This is a great example. This skill, ability whatever you call it comes from a higher place, it goes way beyond logic and comes from deep within. In my opinion Suki is one of the best in the world at portrait photography."
-David Metcalf, Australia
"I wanted to thank you once more for the fabulous workshop we had.
It was a really inspiring weekend and I'm really a lucky guy I could join this programme.
Besides that I leart a lot about photography, I especially learnt a lot about myself, the third day.
I was stuggling with myself very much and I got a clear view on what I can work on, so thank you for giving me the opportunity to encounter this. I wish you a lot of success with your work and see you in school."
- Erik Creeze, The Netherlands
"I was blessed to meet Sebastián Suki Beláustegui for a workshop on Documentary Photography taken in Bali, Indonesia. This amazing experience changed the way I perceive life and photography forever. He trained my mind to focus on what is really important; to capture the essence of the subject and the feeling of the moment. Photography should be able to narrate a story through the images, the movement, and color. Suki, your loving attention made me understand humbleness and oneness, which should be shared by mankind. You pushed my inner self to my limits in a creative and exciting way. Furthermore, my abilities were enhanced to a greater technical and personal level. Thank you Suki, for your eternal enthusiasm and big smile. The "journey" has begun, more astonishing results shall follow. I will never thank you enough for starting me on this great and passionate path of photography."
- Patricia Karam, Mexico
"I did a two-day private photography workshop with Suki. What a guy! Suki is an amazing, very experienced photographer and a hand on teacher. On the first day he thoroughly reviewed my previous photography work to identity strengths and weaknesses. Then we did a number of lectures examining his approach and philosophy to photography, looking at his shots and examining his process to turn a situation into a masterpiece. On day two we visited a traditional Balinese village to concentrate on portraits, of which Suki is a true master. In this picturesque and charming village we visited very friendly local families to take intimate portraits inside their homes, usually using only natural light to create both dramatic and beautiful photos. By watching Suki work and shooting myself with his feedback, I learned a lot, not only about the technical aspects but also how to find good light and interact with and direct our lovely subjects to create amazing photos. But what I haven't even mentioned is that Suki is just a great guy to work with. He's very friendly, warm, funny and has a wonderful approach to photography and the reasons for doing it. He was always happy to answer my many questions about him and photography. He has boundless energy and enthusiasm and is amazing with the locals; he connects with them effortlessly and confidently and puts them at ease. You are really getting a workshop with the added bonus of learning and practicing photography with a master! I really enjoyed my time with him and will definitely stay in touch. Overall an amazing workshop with a very talented and inspiring teacher who really loves to teach and is just fun and interesting to be with. The practical and philosophical things I learned I could put into practice straight away and raise the bar of my photography. Highly recommended"
- Alan Stock, UK
“I recently had the privilege of travelling to India to participate in a workshop hosted by Suki- firstly on the streets of Kolkata; and then in the more remote tribal areas of Odisha and the pilgrimage town of Puri.
It was a great experience- seeing new places and cultures; and importantly, learning about the art and humanity of indigenous portrait photography.
Suki’s love and respect for his students; and the people he looks to photograph is really what makes him stand out. He has exceptional teaching qualities- his approach is to look at each student; and design a pathway for them to improve technically and artistically; but always recognising the overriding importance of showing respect for the humanity of the people whose lives we interact with.
This workshop was an exceptional experience- There is no doubt that I have improved my photography skills; I intend to continue this journey and plan to work with Suki again.”
- Mark Dawson, Australia
"I know of at least one other photographer whose work is referred to as “The Art of the Dark Portrait”. However, it would be more appropriate to refer to Sebastian “Suki” Belaustegui as the true “Master of the Dark Portrait”. With a mastery of the Photographic Arts acquired from long experience going back to the use of slide film, Suki’s portraits are basically done in the camera, rather than relying on elaborate post processing tricks.
A photographic workshop with Suki is an experience not to be passed up by anyone serious about the photographic arts. Not only is Suki totally forthcoming in explaining his techniques but also wants his students to master them as well.
Suki’s great passion is photographing people. In this, he has an uncanny ability to make an instantaneous bond with seemingly anyone. Watch and try to learn – it is something that would benefit us all."
- David Woodcock, Australia
" I learnt a lot about portrait photography and lighting on the Myanmar photography workshop, more then any other workshop I've been on and I appreciated the "academic" aspect of this trip in addition to it just being a tour. Suki is a passionate and brilliant photographer who will make you see the world differently through the experience and energy he brings to his photo tours"
- Mark Thomas, Australia
"It was with the utmost pleasure that I came to be in Suki's photography workshop in Bali. As a traveler, I have found photography to be an important tool to share and portray my experiences while abroad. It a useful way to connect with locals and cultivate friendships that might not otherwise form.
Going beyond the technical education of portrait photography, Suki also addresses the proper and ethical way to approach people, making the interaction mutually enjoyable and beneficial for both the subject and photographer.
His workshop is accessible for all skill levels and his guidance is invaluable. And of course... his energetic and playful energy is highly contagious.
I learned more than I ever could have imagined in just 3 days. I plan on attending more of his upcoming workshops and highly recommend to anyone with an interest in photography and travel. "
- Angie Casazza, USA
"The workshop with Suki in Oaxaca, Mexico during the Day of the Dead celebration was wonderful, and I highly recommend Suki's workshops. His enthusiasm and passion for photography imbued the workshop with great fun and made it a terrific educational opportunity for all of the participants. Not only did he take us to great venues for photography and offer tips throughout for how to improve our pictures, but also perhaps most importantly, he gave us constant feedback on our photos, which is something I have missed in other photography workshops. We had three long sessions in which Suki (and the participants in the workshop who, themselves, were excellent photographers) reviewed our work and gave us positive criticism. He helped each of us to assemble a portfolio of our best work. It was fascinating to watch Suki take photographs and to be exposed to his unique photographic vision. "
- Nancy Axelrod, USA
“While taking the workshop with Suki in Java and Bali, Indonesia, I was impressed at his ability to instantly create an environment of comfort and trust with people. It's almost magic the way he work. That infected me and let me open up to the moment to see and make great photographs.
Two significant things happened to me on this Photography Workshop: I gained the confidence to engage one-on-one with anyone to create a meaningful photograph together, and I discovered the power of limited, natural light to produce stunning portraits. These two things have forever changed my approach to photography.”
- Tom Sekula, USA
“ I want to say the photography workshop in the sacred Valley of Peru was FABULOUS!
The location was amazing. I met and interacted with Quechan Indians in Peru that I would otherwise not have met. The cultural experience itself was priceless.
Suki is a humble, incredibly talented photographer. He began the workshop by showing us the amazing photographs he had taken of this incredible community. (Believe me when I tell you they are Amazing photographs!) Suki then explained
his techniques. At different intervals of being in the communities, Suki would come and ask for your camera. There was
on site guidance. There were numerous models and photo opportunities.
The group experience was unequaled. Although I had not met the other participants (except a friend from Mexico), Suki created a very cohesive atmosphere. I can honestly say that I consider everyone in the group my friend. Months later, we still communicate via WhatsApp. I look forward to another workshop with all of them.
I look forward to another workshop with Suki!
- Ibis Hillencamp. USA
"I was recently lucky enough to join Suki on a workshop in Nagaland, India. Having never done a photographic workshop before I assumed we would be learning a thing or two and taking a few pictures. I did not realize how much I would learn not just about taking pictures but stopping and taking time to think about what I was trying to achieve with each picture. Suki pushed me to take pictures in conditions I had always been told were less than ideal. He challenged me to take “photographs” and not just “pictures to show your family”. This was definitely a departure from my normal mode and I came back with lots of great pictures (to show my family) and few photographs that I am really proud of. He worked hard to put together a workshop that was interesting and diverse photographically and from an interest/travel point of view. We went to places and met people I would never have been able to achieve on my own.
This was a trip that I will remember for a long time, I learnt so much and had a blast doing it. I feel so much more in control going out and taking pictures now. Suki is a ball of fun and I can’t wait to see what other workshops he will be doing and hopefully I can join him on another one soon. Thank you so much for everything."
- Lisa Prior, USA
"Suki is a genius photographer and most important, a brilliant teacher. He has unique ability to teach the artistry of photography while seamlessly imparting the discipline of technique, this ensuring that each student reaches his or her unique potential. I was delightfully surprised to discover such joy and passion in my own workshop experience in Morocco. Suki’s deep enthusiasm, humor and sense of adventure are infectious. I can’t wait to join him again on another adventure. "
- Theressa Connoros, USA
"If you ever have the chance to join a workshop with Suki then don't hesitate to do it - a friend and mentor in photography told me. So I took the chance as he gave a workshop in China where I live currently. Although this was not my first attendance in a photography workshop I had a totally different experience compared to the others. First I learnt to use a light that was far less than ideal. That lead to the second point to learn how to use every light you can get with rearranging the set/situation. This was a new experience because I am usually a street photographer where it's more necessary to react quickly without thinking of the ideal set up. To use my camera only in manual mode was also a new challenge for me. Last but not least it was great and a big challenge to see how this passionate man works. (You brought me to my limits, dear Suki.) And it was good that all participants had the chance to show their photos and receive valuable feedback. In the end I am thankful and hopefully I can do another workshop with him one day."
- Martina Ibs, Germany
"During May 2017 I was fortunate enough to participate in a Suki 3 day portrait workshop in Ubud Bali.
"It was an amazing experience that Suki give me in the Sacred Valley, Peru 2016 Workshop. I learned not only photography techniques & knowledge but also how to enjoy the life while taking photograph. This photography workshop will be my “Turning point”, as a photography and human life. Suki is a Master of the Art of paint with light. "

"Thank you !!! I'm still under big impression after the amazing workshop in China, remember everything and go on think about it. It has changed me, has changed my mind, I will never be the same. It were the most great days in my photography life, really!. Thank you for all, I was enjoyed your work, its great example for me!"
- Natalia Sokolovskaya, Russia
"There are only a few times in your life when you feel truly inspired by raw creative talent, and this was one of those incredible times! I feel so privileged to have voyaged into the unknown world of Documentary Photography with Suki, and was challenged and inspired on every level.
An incredibly powerful teacher, Suki was generous and honest throughout; we truly got an insider's guide to the enigmatic world of Documentary Photography from one of the best in the business!!!
Suki shared wonderful enchanting locations with us, as one day flowed to the next; I will never look at a simple village in the same way again. We were shown the magic behind every doorway, my eyes were opened to the incredible possibilities of natural light, composition, and intriguing beautiful subjects. In addition to gaining an amazing new range of technical skills and insights, we made friends for life, with passionate people from all over the world!
We should all spend as much time as possible with mentors like you, who take the time to share your amazing life and work with us. I can't thank you enough Suki!!!"
- Sharley Aitchison, New Zealand
“This workshop has given me the opportunity to open my heart to a reality I was not aware. Working with people in their space, and connecting from within. Learning from Suki was an amazing experience, he is totally open to share all his knowledge- we talked about light, and techniques, but the most important, was that he took us in a photographic journey into the soul of Human photography. I am very grateful."
- Paul Marchant, Chile
"In my workshop with Suki in Peru I learned that good photographs are few,but you decide how to use light to achieve an artistic refinement.
Sukiteaches you to create elegant images in humble environments with poor lighting conditions. I learned that part of the creative process is taking the time to analyze the space.
I enjoy the experience to the fullest, I met different people in beautiful places and most importantly...changed my way of looking through my camera.
Thank you Suki."
- Mariana Yáñez, Mexico
"I recently took a workshop with Suki in Peru. I am extremely grateful, not just for all the knowledge he transmitted so kindly to his students, but for all the moments we shared. It was a great photoworkshop, and an unforgettable and indescribable life experience."
- Paola Bárcena, Mexico
"I was fortunate to participate in one of the photography workshops with Suki in Tepoztlán, Mexico. They were four intense days of photographic activities and immense satisfaction. Suki is not only a great photographer, he is also a great teacher with a dedication to his students that is not easy to find in other workshops. Personally, I liked how Suki gives each of the participants a special place regardless of their photographic level, emphasizing teamwork and making sure everyone is learning. Suki made us feel at home, the atmosphere at all times was relaxed, friendly, fun and very professional. Suki puts her heart ahead in everything she does and it shows. I feel fortunate to have been part of this experience. This workshop has been by far the best I've ever had! "
“A wonderful workshop in Oaxaca, Mexico, that beyond the countless technical knowledge of photography that we acquire becomes a peak experience full of magic and mysticism.
Lost among the colors, flavors and aromas of the traditional Day of the Dead, Suki opens our eyes to become aware that it is not only the image that will be captured by our lens but the experience that will be recorded in our soul. ”
- Cruchy Gutierrez, Mexico
"For me Suki's workshop in Bolivia was a connection with the true essence of the human being.
Suki has the gift of moving you to the most magical places in the world, where through the camera you connect us with the magic of nature.
They were whole days of relating to the stars, with the sun through its splendid sunsets and sunrises, feeling the earth in its multiple manifestations; its glaciers, stones, volcanoes, deserts, salt flats etc ... is a workshop that touches your soul."
- Vero Acitores, Mexico
"I knew I wanted to learn to photograph the beauties of our planet and since I saw the first picture of Uyuni I put it on my bucket list of places I wanted to go.
Nature in all its splendor.
A few months after having seen that first picture I got the mail with Suki's workshop in Uyuni, a sign!
When I opened and watched the video I realized that this was a unique opportunity to do something that I wanted to know to express myself better with the world, in the place that was dying to go and with the person that I was sure we would learn not only how to get "The photo" better, if not to feel the photo, to live the place from the look of each person and express it from the uniqueness of each one. And I was not wrong. The workshop exceeded my expectations.
From day one I learned a lot, the days went by very fast and at the same time they were long, full of beautiful visuals and learning in every way.
The group flowed since we met and I felt the support of Suki and Maria Elena all the time to help me.
It was a great group, all the classmates who were always willing to share and help me learn.
Organizing something like this in places so far away is not easy, in this case the organization was great and there was never any setback. The flights, drivers, vans and everything was always on time. The attention and delicious food so we were hundreds of kms from civilization.
Thank you Suki really wonderful"
-Alexandra Karam, Mexico
" My experience in the Astro Photography Workshop to Bolivia was amazing, the whole group came together, we supported each other, I learned a lot from Suki and also from my classmates. The places, the landscapes, everything spectacular, every road we traveled was a surprise, the landscapes changed all the time. Suki, always solving anything that comes up and with the best attitude, always with love towards each and every one of us. "
-Cecilia Marcos, Mexico
"A workshop with Suki Belaustegui is a life changing experience. The way he approaches documental photography and all the work he does with the subjects to get to know them and then capture their essence was what I wanted to learn. To be able to tell a story and bring the observer with me into the scene.
He gave each of us personalized attention, pushing us to take our capabilities to the next level. My technical abilities and my approach to photography were greatly enhanced.
The feedback with the other students was an amazing and unexpected plus.
But besides the photographic knowledge, Suki´s vibe and positive energy is contagious and opens your eyes to another reality.
I have already participated in 7 workshops with Suki and I look forward for the next one!
Thank you Suki!"
- Maria Elena Muñoz, Mexico
"The photo workshop with Suki in Oaxaca, Mexico, was simply fantastic, not only allowed me to learn to work with natural light but also with my own light. It is a workshop that, based on interpersonal coexistence, one finds one's own tools to understand the moment and capture the best in a photograph. Suki is a master in helping you understand the light and the personal process to appreciate it, it does not only focus on indicating the optimal values that the camera should have, it helps that you determine the personal values to sensitize yourself to people, the environment, the landscape to be portrayed and capture all the emotion they contain in a photograph. It is a more humanistic experience than photographic, totally. Thank you very much Suki!"
- David Cruz, Mexico
"Recently I went to a12 day workshop organized by Sebastian (Suki) Belaustegui in Northern Vietnam. It was a marvelous experience as under the guidance of Hoa Nguyen Duc and inspired by Suki we visited various ethnic tribes in their natural environment, i.e. their houses, villages and weekly markets. Suki is a master at teaching about the art and humanity of indigenous portrait photography but also about documentary photography in general. He has a very natural way of bringing out people's souls in his beautiful photos and continuously shares his knowledge and way of working with his students. If you are seriously interested in portrait photography, documentary photography or even street photography I definitely recommend you take part in one of Suki's upcoming workshops."
Inge Colijn - The Netherlands.
"In the midst of such a special atmosphere as Day of the Dead, in one of the regions of Mexico that still practices ancestral traditions, having encounters with extraordinary people, and guided by an excellent teacher and human being, we took a workshop that was full of mystery, intimacy, magic, tradition, fraternity, but above all beauty. I have developed and grown as a photographer, since in Suki’s workshops it doesn’t matter what level of knowledge you have in the art of photography, there is always something new to learn. My thanks for all the effort you invest in each one of your workshops. "
- Pepe Mak, Mexico
"Have done the photography workshop with Suki in Peru, it means for my deep thanks to his ability to display the masterful handling of light and generously sharing this art. The challenge to observe carefully and calmly, dialoguing with every ray of light, which is seen in the dark, is an essential way of doing photography. I think my way to focus my gaze is stepping forward on the road. In addition, the mystique generated in the group during the days of the workshop, is an experience that will be marked me in the heart."
- Adriana Peralta, Peru
"The photography workshop with Suki was amazing. It was a lifetime opportunity to have the honor to learn photography on field with a national geography photographer. The workshop was really motivating and it introduced and enlightened us on how miraculous photography can be. I'm personally very motivated is continuing taking pictures and have also started to coordinate a photography club at Royal Thimphu College, Thimphu. The workshop rejuvenated me to follow my passion in the art of photography and made me realize endless opportunity as a photographer in Bhutan."
- Bhuwan Kafley, Bhutan
“Guru, the one who takes you from darkness to light , that is Suki.
I am grateful for my experience at the Workshop in Peru, his unique passion and enthusiasm for what he does, his love for teaching and for life, accompanied me on my best way to learn light in photography, in challenging my own limits and in the deep respect for those to portrayed the souls ...”
- Diego Rodriguez, Argentina

Very very happy that I did this trip .The planning, destinations, choice of locations and fixers /models was spot on!!! This is my first time with you and definitely not the last..
Looking forward to future trips. "
- Mona Jumaan, Bahreim
- Belu Macchiavello, Argentina
"Without doubt an unforgettable life experience to share through unique the art of photography with the best ever photography workshop organization and inspiration that Sebastian Belaustegui created by sharing his incredible work over the years and taking us to authentic places, with beautiful people who make this workshop a whole life experience and photography spiritual ritual. Once again very grateful from the heart for everything learned and shared "
- Brenda Franco, Italy
- Cornelius Walraven, Mexico
"Thank you for sharing your vast knowledge about photography, your time and your humanity with me.
During the four day workshop in Tepoztlán, Mexico, I learned so much about the importance of connection between the photographer and the subject. Not only did you do an amazing job in teaching about this but also in being an fantastic role model. I’m still processing the information you gave us and I’m sure you made me a better, more conscious photographer. Suki, this was by far the most impactful workshop I’ve ever attended. Thank you forever! "
- Ute Reckhorn, Germany
"THE PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP IN THE SALT FLATS OF BOLIVIA WAS AN AWESOME ADVENTURE FULL OF MAGIC AND MYSTERY. A UNIQUE, MYSTIC AND UNREPEATABLE EXPERIENCE WITH BEST LANDSCAPES AND VIEWS THAT ARE SAVED FOREVER IN MEMORY AND IN THE HEART."
- Lorena Avila - Mexico
The opportunity to participate in/experience the above was akin to winning the mega millions lottery. In both instances you buy a ticket, knowing the odds for a winning outcome are remote. Prior to buying that ticket I had no knowledge of Suki’s work or reputation; there followed that “google” him quest which results reflected an extraordinary body of work, which while quite impressive by no means guaranteed the ability of Suki to adequately convey his skills to workshop participants.
Rest assured potential future participants! His lectures are simplistic but totally relevant. Manual settings, composition - connecting the dots, focus, ISO, making the most of natural lighting,: SHOOT! All expressed as uncomplicated basic fundamentals. Demonstrating these issues with examples of his own work. Nothing the average amateur cannot understand, relate to or utilize in improving his or her abilities.
Suki’s caliber is, simply put, in a class of his own. His empathy associated with indigenous tribal peoples transcends the usual boundaries created while photographing remote communities unaccustomed to strangers coming into their ordinarily private space. Passive but direct he creates a comfort zone for his subjects which in turn allows them to enjoy the process. He possesses a remarkable ability to connect with his subjects in a unique perspective capturing a glimpse through the lens the depth of the souls of said subjects.
The phrase “a picture is worth a thousand words” is an understatement when viewing Suki’s work. You can look at a photo and be quite impressed but each time you go back to that same photo you observe that which you failed to notice the first, second, third,.. time. Then it finally becomes this AHA! moment when you actually get what Suki intended.
BUT, the best and most important aspect of the experience is the manner in which Suki oversees your progression. Its hands off while out and about shooting with the occasional “let me see’” as it relates to a particular shot or scene with guidance on how to improve or if a frame is impressive as is, giving you the confidence of a compliment.
When reviewing and critiquing your work at the close of the workshop Suki encourages opinions of the other participants for each and every photo chosen to represent the best of your accomplishments.
Suki is laid back and FUN!. Not too intense but with enough fuel to drive you to improve. Don’t take my word for it. Experience it for yourself. You will not be disappointed.

¡Altamente recomendado!"

“ So sad that the Photography Workshop in Oaxaca, Mexico experience with all its mysticism, tradition, people and magic went so fast. I had the most amazing time with the people opening their homes and hearts everywhere we went. I learn from you as never before and enjoy the most wonderful gift I could of encounter myself with throughout this marvelous journey that we spent together these days while attending this one of a kind workshop, and meeting you Suki that made it all happen! Feel fortunate having the chance to actually see you work, and most important to learn from the master of light that you are. Thanks, thanks, thanks. “

- Pedro Genaro Rodriguez, Mexico

You all made this experience unforgettable. “

A mi maestro Suki,

"The workshop in the Sacred Valley of Peru it was more than the acquisition of knowledge of photography, it is a real opportunity to share the passion, the sensitivity and the art of perpetuating the moments lived and the connection with others, all this in a unique environment of nature and the possibility of inspiration and learning. Many thanks to Suki and all the beautiful people I met in the workshop."
- Andrea katz, Argentina
- Pedro Genaro Rodriguez, Dominican Republic
"The Photography workshop taught by Sebastian Suki in Oaxaca was fantastic.
The workshop helped me to understand the importance of light management, beyond the technique I understood how important emotions are in a good portrait.
The workshop helped me understand that emotions, far from being a manifestation of vulnerability, it is a tool that if is used correctly help us to observe and to concentrate on everyday situations in a better way.
An experience that surely must be lived!
Thank you so much Sebastian Suki for the magical days we share in Oaxaca! "

"Recently I had the pleasure of participating in a workshop on the Art of Documentary Photography in Northern Vietnam.
We travelled from Hanoi to Ha Giang, up to the Vietnam/ China border, Bao-Lac; and Cao Bang. Along the way we met and photographed people from different ethnic minorities working in their daily lives; taking portraits in their homes; and street photography in markets and villages.
Suki is an accomplished photographer, an excellent teacher and above all, a great humanitarian. His interactions with the people that we met along the way showed the greatest care and empathy. His approach to teaching is driven as much around respect for the people and cultures we were visiting as it is the technical aspects we were trying to master.
Thanks to Suki, I had a remarkable learning experience. I would thoroughly recommend Suki’s workshops for anyone wanting to develop their photographic skills; and for anyone wanting to immerse themselves in the culture of these remarkable people.

Gracias! Esto fue un taller que jamás olvidare."
- Ana Maria Matta, Dominican Republic
- Ruben Dario, Dominican Republic

"The "At home with Suki" workshop in Tepoztlán was simply amazing! It completely transformed my perspective on photography. I learned not only advanced techniques, but also how to connect in a special way with the people I portrayed in their homes. The experience was more than just a course, it was a spiritual journey that changed the way I saw the world through the lens. Capturing the essence of events like "los tiznados" and creating authentic portraits of the chinelos with natural light and flash was an unforgettable adventure. I would recommend this workshop to any photography lover looking for inspiration and growth! In addition to the great bonds you generate with your colleagues."

- Pepe Mark, Mexico
"Suki's photos came to me through Instagram. I was enchanted by the beauty of those photos, the colors and the messages they conveyed. I couldn't believe my luck when I saw that one of her workshops coincided with my availability and I didn't think twice, I bought a flight from Brazil to Mexico and I haven't regretted it. Suki transmitted her knowledge to us with passion and humility. She is self-taught and I think that facilitates the language between the student and the teacher. I returned very happy with what she had learned and confident that I had raised my photography level. Suki, I thank you for your teachings and your kindness. I wish that your life is always very blessed, as you have blessed mine."
Alexandra Ramos - Brazil
- Delfina Colombo, Argentina
"It is complex for me to pronounce the exact words to define my experience learning with Suki. Well, I was injected with a bomb of real wisdom in so few days that it will now be part of the most beautiful and pleasant moments that I will like to relive in my mind. Doubts and fears have been released, what I knew about photography has been summarized in a flexible and concrete way.
His beauty, humility and respect when sharing is admirable, an all-terrain human who will definitely shake the minds of all those who cross his path. "
- Daniela Martinez, Mexico
